We're doing our annual feed the refugees dinner where the singles and couples that have to place to hang come over. It'll be an eclectic mix which always leads to a good time. So far we've got eight coming and should have more by next week.

It's a chick thing. Us guys will be out in the garage determining what tools we'll be buying ourselves for Christmas.

I better say Happy Thanksgiving now because I've sold my soul to the wholesale club and I am not even sure when I will be off.

Last week, midweek, they decided to switch around managers and after two nights this new manager is nowhere near ready to solo. They don't realize that the overnight manager position requires training and practice. You can't just throw someone in there, especially if they don't drive forklift well. Plus they gave him the weekend off. So our biggest weekend of food sales and I am the only manager. Yesterday I found that out and then figured out that they gave me barely enough people to function. Going to be a rough night and rough week. Plus Dad's diabetic cat is coming to stay with us. Shots twice a day that hopefully will work with my work/sleep schedule. Saturday is the holiday party that I am expected to be at even though that is normally when I would be asleep.

Sorry for the bitch session.

DonutGoddess, with a sitch like that, you're entitled. Hope your dad's kitty gets along with yours.

My church is finally able to hold a Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day, and that's where I plan to be. My other roomies will be with family, except for one who might go next door to the shelter. At least this year I won't be cooking for myself and one other person like I did last year. Especially with the challenge we had last year with only a small fridge. Then the full-size fridge we were promised came a couple of days early. Can we say great timing, especially since my church gave me a box of food to make Thanksgiving dinner with, including a 24 lb. turkey?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy cooking, but it's a bummer to put on a feast and have practically nobody come....
