Had a wonderful time on my recent trip made even better from 3 EXCELLENT Cast Members: Emily, Mike, and Hollie (Letters are in the process of being written). Anyway, I could not believe some of the stuff I saw and heard (although in retrospect none of it really surprises me).
Arriving at the Magic Kingdom for the MNSSHP after having flown in I had to run over to Guest Relations to pick up my tickets. Overheard one gentleman complaining about how he spent !!$1,000!! on this trip with his grandkids and all he wanted to do on this last day before heading home was to take them on Splash Mountain. Now, keep in mind that this is at 7:30pm on a Party night. "My ticket is good for 7 days!" In my head I am thinking, did you check the Park Hours? The park closes at 7pm for what constitutes a "Private Party". He then continued with the "I'm never coming here again" line. How many times have I used that line and actually followed thru with the "threat" (zero on my part). I finished up with my transactions prior to him leaving so I don't know what the outcome was, but I hope they didn't let him in the park.
The biggest surprise was in EPCOT. The grassy knoll next to the Morocco Bathrooms lay a couple. Due to the merchandise bag near her feet I initially thought it was a guy with his pants down around his ankles. Nope, just a couple taking a break. Except the girl was in a very short skirt and what I hope was a thong (if not, someone was going to get a show). Shortly after spotting this a CM from one of the food booths promptly showed up to move them on their way.
The biggest thing that I always find ironic is that for the most "Magical Place on Earth", there are alot of angry parents (and whiny kids). "I don't want to take a picture!" "WE ARE TAKING A PICTURE I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER WORD ABOUT IT!" (yikes)... "SHUT UP, MOMMY'S TRYING TO DO SOMETHING HERE!" (kid was crying as mom was trying to go through ticket turnstile)...
Oh well, at least I had fun on my trip (other than almost getting run over by a scooter, but that happens nearly every trip). It's going to be hard waiting for the next 72 days to roll by before my next trip down.

I have to say I would be happy as a clam if I did nothing but hang out at the resort for a few days. I don't have kids, but it takes a while to get past the urge to, as a friend used to put it, "go commando" at Disney. Take time and smell (or photograph the roses.)

Re: My SG Report (from 10/16-24)
I know... I am even reluctant to do the dining plan because I dont like being tied down to being at a particular place at a particular time. Half the time I dont even decide on what park I am heading to until I get ready each morning (okay, maybe as I go to bed each night). My friends think I am crazy for doing it this way... "how can you go to disney and not spend all day in the parks every day?" And yet, I am the one walking through the park at my own pace with a huge smile on my face.

If it helps...I could have written that post. I have even started out heading for MK and at the last minute (my own car) made a turn and headed for Silver Springs. I am happiest when I don't plan anything. I know some people think it is asking for disaster by not planning a trip to WDW, but so far in 27 trips since 1983, no disaster has beset me. :)RedOctober25 wrote:I know...
