Something I have always wondered about refunds

I have those SG that have come screaming at me about their ruined vaction because the one thing they came all the way down to see or do is closed or whatever. Obviously if they have been there a few hours already they are not going to get some refund.

However, lets say I am a SG who drove to the MK and really wanted to relive my childhood memmories and ride Horizons and Body Wars. Only to walk into Epcot look at a park map maybe ask a CP who has never even heard of the attraction and then finally find out that OMG ITS GONE!! Seeing that I just walked in the park and have been there MAYBE 15 minutes. Can I run over to Guest Relations and get a refund?

I would think they could because we can look a the ticket and see they just got to the park and if the guest REALLY didnt want to see anything else we could escort them out and give the money back.

To my knowledge Disney doesn't give refunds for reasons like that.

It comes under the heading of..."Your lack of planning does not constitute my loss of income".

Have to basically agree with this. Based on the scenario given, where a guest has at least one particular attraction they wish to ride or view, Disney does their part by making sure to list if it will be available. It is up to the guest to check to make sure it will be available when they make their trip.

As far as I know, from the front desk aspect, that there are no refunds on tickets. kind of like the dining plan, if they start using the tickets they either use 'em or lose 'em (unless they're non-expiring).

Hesitant as I am to say this where Board Xers may read it....

We can and do make exceptions for the right circumstances. Having grandma hauled off to hospital with associated familial trauma might be cause to cut a family's 5-day tickets back to the 4-day rate (a savings of a whopping $8 each). It's a judgment call every time, and the guests have to convince some very cynical CMs that it's the Right Thing.

I see it maybe once per year. Not as often as I see us extend a family's stay on the cuff for such hospitalizations.

The Mouse isn't without a heart, but you have to go through his brain to get there, and that stops most SGTs.

Yep Disney has a No Refund policy world wide.
i.e. It's not thier fault.
I once bought too much of that mouse money or duck dollars,
and got sick one day and disney didn't sell what I needed,
so I had to go find a drug store, that didn't take disney money.
but most all my cash was converted. Disney wouldn't even buy some back, everywhere I asked, sorry, no we don't, but it's fun to spend. but it's not fun when you get a cold or flu from being hot and wet and running in and out of air conditioned buildings all day. I made such a ruckus that now airborne is sold in DTD.
airborne really saved my 2 week vacation. Disney nurses are wierd anyways, I got bit on the arm in adventureland and all I got was cleaning pads and bandaids. now, when I spend 2500.00 for 2 weeks there I am loaded for bear. It's sort of like going camping as I see it.

Sometimes, on a case-by-case basis, along with a GSR Form, I may downgrade a three day ticket to a two day ticket, sell a single entry water park ticket, and give the difference on a Disney Gift Card. But I have to be fairly comfortable with their explanation that they were told their ticket was good at all the parks.

I found out two weeks prior to my dream Disney vacation/honeymoon that I was going to have to come home early to have surgery. We were only going to get to stay half as long. They were very helpful. We upgraded some things and even got a refund on what wasn't spent. But I did call in advance.
