I can attest to the
Florida one not being a stereotype, but actually true.
Yes, someone other then drcorey is posting a Youtube video, for once.

I was born and raised in NM and have lived in TX for the past 12 years, and I can say the TX stereotype is definitely true, but the NM stereotype sounds like a cop out for someone who really doesn't know anything about NM. Roswell (the only place in NM that has anything to do with UFOs) is a small town of about 46,000 people in Southeastern NM (I was born there and grew up 30 minutes from there). I would venture to say that most New Mexicans haven't even been there. I can think of a lot more accurate stereotype than UFOs.
The video did make me want to read the book, though!

If a stereotype is accurate, as it sounds like some of these are, does that mean its not a sterotypes, but rather a truth??

Hawaii - If you lived here you'd be lazy too.
In Mexico, it's manana. In Hawaii, it's next week.

Just remember: Just because something is a stereotype doesn't mean no-one actually acts in that way, simply that it is a mistake to assume all or even most folks act that way. :cat1:
