Stupid Guest Tricks

First, I want to apologize in advance for any lack of capitalization.....typing with my left hand.

that said....

remember the car accident? well, my hand wasn't sprained like the ER and ortho docs thought. That's why I haven't been on the forums in awhile. it seems I tore the tendon sheath at the base of the long finger and my tendon was sliding from place as well. I was in a brace-thingy for 3 weeks to see if it would mend by itself and ended up having surgery on the 11th.

I have a high pain tolerance, so the only thing that's bothering me over much is doing things with one hand. it definitely takes some getting used to. but on the bright side.....at least my left arm will be really toned. :)

I have to read up the "how are you doing thread" to see what everyone is up to. missed you guys.

thanks!!! the only day I had pain I had to take meds for was thursday. trying to get back to normal now.

For physical therapy, will they put you in a driving simulator and program it to have other cars cut you off in traffic? ;)

Oh wow, I'm so sorry that you have had to go through all that! I am glad the surgery is over and hope that you'll have full use of your hand back SOON!

You might want to check if your computer's operating system recognizes the Dvorak left-hand keyboard. Most know the Dvorak keyboard is one with scrambled letters (compared to the Qwerty keyboard we're all used to), but he also developed keyboards for use with one hand (left and right). I know some folks with two good hands that use the Dvorak left hand keyboard so their right hand can stay on the mouse.

Takes a while to get used to, but if you have lots of typing to do, it could speed things along appreciably.

Good luck, and try not to bite your physical therapists. They aren't hurting you *just* because they like to hear screams.
