Johnny Depp or Gene Wilder Wonka?drcorey wrote:If Wonka and the Hatter got into a fight, who would win?
The only flaw ktulu,is that Gene wilder never played the Mad Hatter. (I think?)ktulu wrote:Johnny Depp or Gene Wilder Wonka?
I thought about that, but still needed to know which version I am dealing with :) I prefer the Wilder version, less spaced out.darph nader wrote:The only flaw ktulu,is that Gene wilder never played the Mad Hatter. (I think?)
BUT,it's gotta be the Depp 'Wonka'
(gotta love a guy who walks into plate glass full speed. :D :)
Ah, inner turmoil? I'd go with Hatter then.drcorey wrote:Both depp versions
I felt that the Wonka character was originally intended to be creepy. I mean this guy had some issues. I enjoyed the movie even though I liked the Gene Wilder one very much as well.PatchOBlack wrote:I was tempted to make a comment along the lines that if both Depp characters took each other out, we all won, but that seems a bit unfair. I haven't seen him in "Alice in Wonderland", so I really shouldn't try to judge that only by the clips I've seen. As to his performance as Willy Wonka, well, there are pieces I liked, but I have to admit, overall he comes off as just plain creepy. Now, I've heard it said that the movie is closer to the book, but there was something off-putting about the whole thing, and Depp's Wonka didn't do anything but add to that uncomfortable feeling. Just my opinion, of course.
