I'm Not Helping!

Ah, the lovely guests one meets during the week between Christmas and New Years:
"You simply must get us a reservation at California Grill tonight!"
"Let me see if I can.... No, sorry, Cal. Grill is sold out tonight and for the rest of the week."
"That's it! We'll just have to go have hamburgers."
"Ah, now if you'd like a really good burger, I can get you a table at The Wave, and I'll ask them to set aside some of their wonderful Bison Burgers from the lunch menu so you can order them for dinner!"

My kid ,who likes anything exotic,ate the Elk Burger at the Bridgetender's where the Truckee River begins from Lake Tahoe.....This is a small restaurant,but SO GOOD!!!!! :)
IIRC,it came with some sort of raspberry-chipotle sauce......

I would much prefer a bison burger to stuff at the Cali. I think that restaurant is way overrated.

Zazu, Don't you know that you're supposed to knock another person's reservation off?!? LOL It amazes me that people just don't think things through and plan ahead.....oh, what you guys have in store for you this week.

Today it was a family of 14 who wanted New Years Eve dinner, but only at a buffet, and only between 5:30 and 7pm.
Could *not* convince them to compromise, so started describing quick service locations, since that's their only chance for sustenance at that hour.
Come on people! Could you plan ahead, even by a month?
True, a month wouldn't get you a table for 14 on NYE, but at least it would be somebody *else* talking to you.
