A performer was injured yesterday during the preview of Spiderman on broadway
He is said to be in serious condition. This show has now hospitalized 4 actors, and it's still not open yet. It seems that someone needs to reign in the artistic staff who are over stretching the safety envelope!

Since Disney now owns the character,I wonder when their legal folks will start to exert pressure on Julie Taymor and company.

Our prayers for a swift recovery for actor Christopher Tierney.

They were running the YouTube clips on the 11 o'clock news here last night.

A few of the guys I'm working with right now know the injured actor, he was in Dirty Dancing here in Toronto last summer. They are quite concerned for him naturally.
I haven't been in contact with anyone on the crew in New York, but I'm sure there would BA a gag order on them, at least officially. I'm afraid human error could be to blame for this one, either in the design or operation of the trick.

Quite a few people commented on the nice thud he made at the end.

Was it the same folks who thought that "Tarzan" was a good idea?

Apparently Bono is the big push on this one. He brought Michael Cole onboard when the show was out of cash and being loaded out before it even started rehearsals onstage. Cole provided 40 million in extra capital! He was also the major money guy behind Lord Of The Rings the musical, and that was a financial and artistic disaster. Except for those of us who worked the 80 hour weeks....
