In all honestly, I personally find this movie a bit lackluster.
I saw it in theaters. (I read the book first) The film looked beautiful, and as you can see from these scenes, they really nailed the look of Dr. Seuss, but I felt that the overall story was weak.
There was too much goofing around, things felt rushed, and there was a very out of place daydream sequence done in hand-drawn animation, inspired by anime, that went on for way too long. They pretty much stopped the film just so they could have that sequence.
Make no mistake, I definitely thought that there were some good aspects in this film, but for me the bad out-numbered the good.
