We had turkey,a small ham and a house full of people. Lousy football of course.
One thing I was thankful for was that mom was 'home' when she passed away Sat morning. :( Instead of being at the care home she was staying at.
Some day the Lions will get a W on Thanksgiving day,oh well.

Turkey is what my mother serves. I am thankful that my family lives close enough to each other that we can all go to her house for the holidays.

Turkey with my boyfreind's family. First time I've ever not had Thanksgiving with my own extended family, but we've been together for 5 years so it was kind of time to start splitting the Holidays, instead of splitting on the Holidays.

For the last few years we gather up all the strays, near-do-wells, singles, etc. for dinner. The numbers vary year to year but it's always a good gathering.
Tonight is the Leftover Party where everyone brings their leftovers to share. At last count we're expecting 30 people. It will probably be more.

Turkey, which Mrs. ktulu prepared and I fried. Turned out awesome! She also took care of the side dishes. I have very thankful for her. We had Dad over, didn't want to leave him alone on the first Thanksgiving since Mom passed. We saw Tangled last night, good movie! I missed part of it due to children issues, including the ending. I'll see it all when it comes out on Blu Ray!

Hmmmm. Well I guess I get to be the depressing one.
I had to work in the morning. Not a bad thing since it was time and a half. Then home to a cold house (My boiler is deader than a doornail so no heat or hot water. And since the bank account does not have an extra few thousand in it to buy a new one I am looking at a long Maine winter with just a pellet stove for heat).
As for a meal I just had whatever leftovers were in the fridge. I live alone so no sense in making a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for just me. I used to go to my sister's house for holiday meals but she passed away last year. The rest of the family doesn't really stay in touch and I'm not the type to invite myself. I did have one offer from a co-worker to eat with her and her boyfriend but the boyfriend flipped out and said no.

Had some family over and ate turkey.
As for what I'm thankful for...I was going to write a short bit on that for facebook, but it turned into a 4 page 5.5 hour emotional roller coaster...

Sorry to hear that some had some sad reflections mixed in with the good ones :( You know I'm thinking of you at this time.Widget,Sorry your day was not as special as you absolutely deserve, but I can't help but think that you helped make it a very happy and memorable Thanksgiving just by doing what you do everyday :) I like Hobie's Leftover Party Idea very much, maybe we'll try that one next year.
The Holidays can be such a hectic, maddening time trying to accomplish all of that Perfect Experience. I believe it doesn't exist,so just try to have a little fun and get through with your Sanity if you can.At the very least,Celebrate that this past year is going to be DONE!!!! ;)

My church blessed my roomies and I with the fixings. I roasted the turkey, and made the dressing in a seperate dish. I also helped one of my roomies with the yam and marshmallow bake. They were very grateful and are still thanking me. Two of my roomies were out of town, though. My work schedule got re-arranged so what I do on Thursday was done Wednesday, and today I'll be doing what I normally do on Friday.
