Did this make it to air?
The only other time I ever saw a Wheel contestant solve the puzzle with one letter was several years ago when they had an autistic savant on the show.
He solved every puzzle. I think he might have solved some without any letters on the board!

He looked like he was having the time of his life.

My kids and I were watching that and couldn't believe that she solved it, but when you know the prize puzzle is always something along those lines, it certainly does help. She was actually solving the puzzles quickly all night long.

Actually, it could be a disadvantage to solve the puzzle with just one letter. If you know what the answer is, then usually it is better to give the wheel at least a couple more spins, and earn up a bit more money before solving.

Patchy, I've seen people that try to do that and it bites them on the ass....they end up with bankrupt or Lose A Turn. I feel so bad for them when they're just trying to win the game.

I'm not saying it is a sure-fire, every-time-a-winner strategy. I'm just saying that, comparing the amount of risk to the possible gain, it is usually better not to do a single-letter solve, unless that letter is used multiple times in the puzzle, thus giving you a good amount of winnings.
