The worst of it is that people may think twice about donating to someone else next time. :(

It's unfortunate that it took a newspaper (the Star) to uncover the fraud.
I know of at least one other actual cancer patient, whom many though was faking/bluffing. He had not made any appeals for money, just accommodation at work, which he received. But most co workers felt he wasn't sick due to chemotherapy not interrupting his crack habit at all. Still don't know if he really was sick, he took his life in august. I'm sure he would have gotten more compassion from some people had the faker not been in the news this past summer.

We had the same thing happen here on Maui. And, she was a cop.

We just had it happen here in the Philly area. It makes me wonder what is missing in these people's lives that they feel the need to betray others like this.

Munchhausen... not by proxy... just... Munchhausen.
