My sister will arrive sometime tonight to the World and we will arrive December 19th.We've been hearing a lot about the World being infested with bedbugs

.Please give us the 411 about this.Should we plan on bringing bedbug sprays to use in the room, check everything out in the room before we bring our essentials in?

3 years ago was our last visit and didn't even phantom any of these queries.Thanks.

Disney is no worse with bedbugs than anyplace else. Bedbugs are a new trial for American travelers so they get a lot of press, but they aren't THAT common. It's just that, whenever it happens, people get excited and run around yelling about it, y'know? Anywhere there are a lot of people, particularly a lot of international travelers, there's some risk, but I doubt it's any worse at Disney than at any other place in Orlando.
Follow the basic advice you'll find anywhere - keep your luggage on luggage racks or hard surfaces; don't drop your laundry on the floor; don't take your own pillow or keep it covered if you do, etc. If you are really worried about it, you can inspect your room when you get there - take a flashlight and (if you'd like) a magnifying glass. Check along the mattress edges and the headboard. This site will give you some hints what to look for, but is not for the faint hearted. :p:

Remember that public health employees tend to get more wound up about things than strictly necessary - they get a skewed view of reality because they see ALL the local cases, and don't see the many, many more people who don't have any problems at all. Being careful and checking everything is fine, but if you just want to not worry about it, the odds are still way against you having any problems. :)

Forgot the "quick and dirty" check method that I've never seen on an official site but a lot of travelers swear by - run one of those sticky roll thingies along the edge of the mattress (by the cording) and along the edge of the wall near the head of the bed (if you're really worried) and see what sticks. :D:

One trick I learned is to put your suitcase in the bathtub when you arrive rather than putting it on the bed where it could pick up bedbugs. If that seems like a little much, then most rooms do have the luggage racks. If you keep it away from the bed, then you should be fine.
My family and I have been going to WDW twice a year for the past five years, and we haven't run into any bedbug problems on any of our trips. I don't think there's a huge incidence in the Mouse House, but it never hurts to take reasonable precautions like you would anywhere.

I've been going to Disney World for years(longest stretch:94-2007 missing only 1998) and never had a problem but it seems by reports that it's a big prob in Florida right now.

I have stayed at the Disney Resorts with my family and I have never came across a bed bug yet. I did stay off property and did get bitten up by fleas. But seriously, I don't think you will have any problems. :)
