Dont Stand On My Cart!

Happened a little while back. I was working a cart near World of Color. As per usual, throngs of guests were preparing to cram in to the show area. Except for the folks who either thought it was too much work or didn't know about the FastPass situation.

So it got really crowded. Like, more crowded than its been usually by my cart. So I had to start nicely asking people to move...because they were leaning on my cart, opening the lids to see what was inside...you know. And I was getting a little worried about the people opening my lids.

So, after finally getting a *little* room around my cart in case people wanted to buy from me...the show starts. And again, some folks decide to start leaning on my carts. I turn around and kindly ask them to move, and they do. I turn back around and there's a 12-14 year old *standing* yes STANDING on top of my cart.

My first thoughts were "WTF, GET OFF OF THERE! Who on EARTH told you that was a good idea!? Get down now!" But, I managed to kindly ask the boy to come down of the cart because I didn't want to see him get hurt. His parents gave me dirty looks and muttered about how they couldn't see the show now that I had him get off the cart...So much for safety first!

Yes, I can believe it!Jr.should never be told NO, it might damage his self-esteem! I'm sure there will be a complaint to City Hall because you "ruined their Magic" you big Meanie!

Asked a Security Guard to have lil miss Princess to not literally climb the wall at our clinic (she was wedging herself between two walls and leaning against a glass window about 8 feet up)Security Guard just shrugged his shoulders-guess it is a bad idea to incur Parent's Wrath

By the way, had an SG moment that topped this. First I need a photo:

^ See that platform in the yellow circle? The one that's blocked by a fence because it's on open water?

Yeah, some dad put his two toddlers on that little platform and let them run/crawl around on it. Okay, there's stupid, and then theres stuuuuupid. All sorts of bad things could've happened right then and there. He was taking pictures, turning his back to the kids, talking on his cell phone. Then, he had them come down off the platform and they went to go run around the viewing area.

I was in total shock to what I just witnessed. Ugh.

Wow.JustWow. Reminds me of the guy I saw at Sea World holding his infant over the edge of Shamu's Tank immediately post show. I couldn't believe he would put his baby at risk like that!

I don't. I used to, then I started working at Disneyland and it seems almost every day something happens that I previously wouldn't have believed I'd ever see. And I lose a little more faith in humanity.

And, of course, if one (or both) of them fell in he would have sued Disney for various things, including not having a lifeguard on duty.
