Hiker accidentally shoots himself in the rear
The Wenatchee World
WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — A hiker on Blewett Pass shot himself in the butt when he put a handgun in his back pocket. The Chelan County sheriff's office said the 52-year-old Snohomish man had moved his .40-caliber handgun from its holster to his back pocket Saturday to see if that position would be more comfortable.
The Wenatchee World reported the gun fired the bullet down his left buttock and left leg, coming to rest just above the knee. He was treated at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.

Pretty sure he realized it wasn't more comfortable.

Manure : In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before the invention of commercial fertilizers, so large shipments of manure were quite common.
It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas of course. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!
Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening.
After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the instruction 'Stow high in transit' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.
Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ' , (Stow High In Transit) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.
You probably did not know the true history of this word.
Neither did I.
I had always thought it was a golf term.

I would almost bet it was a glock.
we had this happen on a gun range where a member of a certain investigative unit that has a hit t.v. show had put it in his waistband without a holster, totally aginst the rules for weapons and especially for glocks.
the result was that he lost a testical.
you see, the "safety" on a glock is a small lever in the trigger. when the lever is sticking out from the surface of the trigger, the firing pin is held at an angle that will prevent it from lining up to hit the round. when you put your finger on the trigger, it depresses the lever and the will fire.
tucking the gun in a waistbnnd will sometimes snag on clothing and depress the detent.... and BANG!
good times...
