Posting Procedures

Good afternoon everyone,

I've been seeing a lot of news stories posted lately and I just wanted to remind everyone on the guidelines for posting outside news articles.

1. Do not post the entire article verbatim unless the article is behind a paywall.

2. Please provide link if possible (see above).

3. Please post articles in the proper forum (IE The Newsroom).

Basically I want everyone to give credit where credit is due. That and i'd like to avoid any DMCA notices.

Thanks,
CujoSR

Who (or what) is DMCA?

Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

It's the law which outlines how to proceed if someone else has stolen your intellectual property online. A DMCA take-down notice, which Cujo would like to avoid, is the document that's sent to a host to tell them that someone on their service has posted copyrighted material, and the copyright holder wants it taken down. It's the prime source of videos getting poofed on YouTube.
