If I add another 15 year old child, I would have to pay for their ticket, but we would get their free dining credits as well right? We could save the ticket for another trip, but the dining credits the 3 of us could use?

I was one of the early responders in that thread and I politely chewed out the OP. The consensus is that it is cheating and several people were waiting for the Moderators to either close or poof the thread.

but is the ticket more than the foodcost?

Hi all. First I wanna say I've been a lurker for a long time now, I not only enjoy the stories about stupid guests but I also like to think I learn from them........at least the tales that involve 'not being in the know'. I'm not sure if I've ever logged in and replied to any threads since creating my account here but this one just got me and I HAD to throw in my two cents. I don't see how you could call this stealing, after all they ARE paying for another ticket so they are paying for the extra meals. When the time comes and they return for their trip with the previously unused ticket it's not like this fifth person gets to enjoy the meal privilege as well. I would do it with a clear conscience.

I have never used the meal plan so I'm just thinking out loud here but don't you have to buy a package to get the meals free? If so, aren't the pack tickets automatically expirational? And don't you have to pay for that additional person totally, which would include resort occupancy as well as park admission? I know that the ticket hasn't been used but, again don't you have to have a validated ticket to get to use the points for meals? I can't believe that Disney didn't foresee that possibility.

In order for that to work you would have to buy non-expiration tickets for the entire package just to get one extra ticket for later use. I don't know the numbers but it seems like it would be cheaper to just pay for whatever extra food you want and a lot less questionable a tactic.

I grant you that I do not have any real knowledge as to how the meal plan works but something doesn't sound right here. A very strong argument can be made under the topic of...what do I know??

WDW tickets normally do not expire until 14 days after date of first use. This is especially true for tickets that are part of a package available to the General Public.

The poster in the thread in question (which, by the way, is now locked) wanted to have a phantom Junior and pay for the ticket and would then get the meal credits for this non-existent person. This would allow them extra CS and snacks, as well as greater opportunities to use signature dining.

Since the ticket for the phantom person would not expire, on a subsequent trip that might be room-only (or even off-site) that ticket would then be used.

So the upshot is they would be getting a much higher value in food than their cost for the ticket for future use. In other words this is theft.

I can't force myself to think hard enough to figure out what I think about this issue -- it is the weekend, after all -- but it sounds fishy. That being said...
