How do I get there dry?

It rained today. In torrents! And the average IQ of the guests fell with it. Add a lightning strike that took down all three monorail routes for a couple of hours and we had ourselves a formula for major comedy.

The first was a guest who wanted to get to another hotel without getting wet. "Your best bet is still walking five minutes to the MK bus station and catching a bus the rest of the way."

"No way! Too wet! I'm taking the monorail to the Kingdom so I can stay dry!"

"Um, we're closer to the bus stop than the MK monorail station is...."

Act Two was the guest who insisted on taking the Gold Flag bus from Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom. (This bus route copies the resort monorail route when the monorail is down.)

"It's only a ten minute walk."

"But there's too much lightning! I'm taking the bus to stay safe!"

"Okay, so you'll take the bus half way to the MK and walk the rest. Then you're what? Going *inside* the park because the lightning wouldn't dare strike you in there?"

The third and final act was a guest who needed to get home dry.

"You could walk to the MK bus stop and catch a bus from there."

"No, it's raining to hard to walk that far."

"Well, you could take the monorail to the TTC and transfer to a Wilderness Lodge bus there. It's a shorter walk, but it's still uncovered."

"No, that's not good enough. We have to get back to Fort Wilderness and stay dry doing it."

"Um, you do remember that your campsite is outdoors, right?"

Tsk tsk, you guys are getting bad out there in Florida. What's wrong with your magic dome that protects WDW from lightning and rain? It getting stuck again?

Budget cuts. WoC and DL's new parade completely drained our Dome Budget.

;)

So I take it there won't be any 'personal' plastic bubbles either? :(

Bird strikes. Those stinking seagulls just fly through it like it wasn't there.

:scuttle:

*Exactly* like it wasn't there!

You wonder if the SG have heard of ponchos or umbrellas?

If it rains, aim for a bus to get to your destination. :)

If you don't want to take a bus, take a taxi and pay even more.

A thunder storm and the monorail beam is not a good choice. It is more dangerous than walking in a lightening storm.
