My first true SGs

Worked a fireworks shift the other night and met my first couple of SGs.

(Please note that ALMOST ALL of the guests were awesome. I had some great conversations and was able to get some laughs out of a gent who was bent out of shape from someone jumping in front of his family at the ELP).

1st winner: Castle ramps have to be cleared before the parade starts in preparation for Nightastic! Our SG of the night felt it rude that we had to clear the area and gave attitude, took names and let us know she was going to let someone know about this.

2nd one was a lady informing me that this was the last night (of their 5 night vacation) and they waited all evening to go look inside the castle and I just ruined their princesses vacation. I know I've heard you guys say this, but I couldn't believe she was actually using this line on me. You've been here almost a week, and now you've waited until 10 minutes before the fireworks go off to decide you want to go in the single most important part of your trip? Excellent, the castle will reopen shortly after the fireworks.

I don't know about you, but when I set out on a trip. Any trip, but especially a Disney trip, I make sure I get the ride/attraction I've been dying to see in... FIRST or pretty darn close to it!

I'll never understand this sort of guests...

I've NEVER talked back to a CM (other than friendly type...I DO converse with CM's!!) for clearing out an area for parade or firework safety, not letting my kids on a ride (daughter wanted to ride Everest, but before we got FP's, we checked. CM working the ride also noted she was too small, but wife and I told her we could ride when she was tall enough, that we didn't want her to get hurt because she was too small...then thanked the CM), or anything else. Where do these people get the idea it is OK to be rude and mean?

I can't even count the number of times I heard that line when closing Dumbo... "This is our last night and we promised little Johnny he could ride Dumbo, it's his favorite!" I felt like saying, Nice parenting, waiting til the last second to try to get your kid on his favorite ride...

And then invariably, they turn to the kid and say something like, "This mean lady won't let you ride... tell her she ruined your whole vacation!"

20 MINS?!?!? WOW, your an early bird.

We make sure our favorite ride is the LAST thing we do just as they are closing the gates, turning off all the lights and unloading the street sweepers. (no wait line then LOL)

Sounds like the patients who wait until 3 minutes before closing to check in and tell the doctor they've been sick the past few days

I always thought it was that they had to leave for the airport and little timmy was waiting all week to ride (insert attraction) and now we have to leave and he will never ever in his whole life get to come back and ride that ride.

(oh, and its your fault, you big blue meanie CM!)

you should keep a tally of SG "stories"

"It is a medical emergency..I must leave the park now!...No, I do not want Reedy Creek....I must leave now....it is a medical emergency!"

I always wait until the last day, last possible minute, to do the thing I least want to do. Walk about of the park for the last time of that trip.
