Am I evil?

This lady asked me how much a coke was today. I told her 2.75. She spent about 30 seconds going through her change. She had 2.74. She asked if it was enough. I just kind of stood there. She asked if I had a penny. I think I shook my head or just stared I don't remember. I had a 5 dollar bill, but I wasn't about to break it for an f'ing penny. I know it's a penny, but I just wasn't in the mood. I put up with annoying rude customers all day and the thought of giving one of them a penny, I just didn't want to...
The annoying thing was that she began looking in her pockets after asking me if 2.74 was okay. This guy next to her gave her a penny. I wasn't gonna give her one. The fact that I pissed her off kind of made me laugh. At least 30% of guests do something that annoys me or pisses me off when I'm working. If I can get under their skin every once in a while. It kind of makes me happy. Maybe I'm evil. I don't care.

Depends. Was SHE being an ass? Cuz I don't think you should take revenge for the asshole guests on the good ones...

Wellllll, technically, why should he have to give her his own money or short his bank. And why the hell is she at D-land with $2.74 on her?
If you told the guest, I'm sorry but I don't have enough money to give you all your change back, is that ok? How many people would flip out?
Short Change

In the restuarant that I used to work at (before being recruited at the Happiest Place on Earth) we used to have a policy that stated:
If a guest is short by ten cents or less, the company will take care of it.
What is Disney's policy when a guest is short by a penny or two?

Sucks to be the guest. I'm not getting in trouble when my drawer isn't even because I let a few too many "do you have a penny" people in there. It goes on my record card not theirs. Fantasmic is the only place I'd do that because it's rare we come up even anyway because we round down based on taxes to the nearest quarter. In that case I'll do it, since we're going to be +/- to begin with. But even then, only if they are nice about it.

Especially for ODV I think...they wouldn't want to be even a single penny short.
Man, me and my crew were over at the parkside ODV building today having it out with one of the leads. It was the first time I'd been inside the center area where they have all the cubicles and the places to add up the day's totals....geez, there isn't a single new thing I learn about ODV that doesn't make me feel sorry for those guys and gals even more...
All the time when I see them puhing a cart backstage, knowing how far they have to go...then passing back that way 20 minutes later to see how little progress they've made. I'm always so tempted to give them a lift and offer to tow the cart....but I know I'd get in trouble, because I think I'd fuck up the cart if I tried to tow it (directly hitching it to my truck / cart -- without one of those cart towing beds. We actually have our electric carts ready to tow, and I'm told they have enough power to tow a few headcarts...I'm sure an ODV cart would be a piece of cake. I wouldn't even need to use a truck!!)

You had a fight with one of the leads? About what?
Yeah, if I had known then what I know now, I don't think I would have chosen ODV. The lady would have let me choose a restaraunt. But I chose ODV for a couple of reasons. I worked in a restaraunt on my last job and I hated the manager there.
I kind of wish I had gone into restaraunts. Isn't their starting rate the same as ODV's? I think it is. If I had joined a restaraunt, I could work in an air conditioned building, not push heavy carts, and not have to walk five mins to go on break. That would be really nice.
But I've been with ODV 3.5 years. I can't just transfer. I'd lose my seniority, my wage, and possbily my benefits. It really blows!

Well, it was actually my foreman and my lead having it out with an ODV lead and / or manager, because they were supposed to get us a helium tank for a special event, but instead got something like 6 huge helium tanks all interconnected, and we didn't really have the ability to transport them. I mean I'm sure we could have transported them, but it would have been a pain in the ass. Basically we told them it was their bad, so they needed to deliver it to us *individually* so they could be used safely (they were going inside a mobile character break room), which they did.

"Am I evil?" Dear bretheren, if you have to ask the question, only the sacred heart of Metallica/Diamond Head can answer this query. Yea verily, I quote:
"Am I evil?
Yes I am
Am I evil?
I am man, yes I am"
Most commonly found on Garage Days Revisited, the book of the O.T.T. (Old 'Tallica Testament)
Amen.
