Keeping all appendages crossed right now....

But it looks like I MIGHT (stressing the word might) be defending that blankety blank thesis sometime during the week of July 5th!!!!!

If so, one thing I really, really want to have is one of those 2010 Mickey ears mortarboards, so I can have a matching set! I have one from every graduation I've ever had, including high school, but I've always graduated in spring before, not summer. Last time, in 2007, I had a hard time finding one in May - MK was sold out and I had to go to DHS.

Does anybody know if its too late this year? Where would be my best bet to look? Do you think I can wait till I finish the thesis and defend? I really shouldn't waste the time to drive over before the defense - I'm spending 16-20 hours/day on it right now, but if need be, I could have DH and the girls drive over one night this week.

I know school isn't out up North yet, do they save some for when the grads up there come down? If so, we'll be there within hours of the end of the defense - however long it takes to change clothes, and drive over. I'll be making dinner reservations on the way, and MSEP or Illuminations, here I come!

I might be drowning my sorrows or celebrating, but either way, for one evening, I'll be in my happy place till I have to get the thing into publication format by the 16th in time for graduation on August 6th. Whew!

If you could let me know about that Mickey ear availability, I'll be eternally grateful! Thanks!

Wow, those look different from my last ones! The ears are fuzzy, I wonder if they've changed them, or gotten a different manufacturer? All my others look like the regular Mickey ears with the round cap and plastic ears with just a mortarboard and little tassel on them.

I've never had my name on one before, that might be cool!

I've seen the ones your looking for at DHS. They're the traditional Mickey hat, but with a blue graduation cap between the ears. The store where they do the embroidery on the hats on Hollywood Blvd has a big bin full of them, I just saw them about an hour ago.
I can't say for sure about the other parks, but DHS has had them for awhile, and it doesn't look like they're going to run out soon.
