"How Long Is The Wait?"

Post by Scream162 » Mon May 31, 2004 3:43 pm

"How long is the wait?"
All Attractions Cast Members are asked this question numerous times a day while working at a a greeter position.

Here's something I go through daily...

Guest: "How long is the wait?"
Me: "That stand-by wait time up there says 3 hours."
Guest: "No it doesn't! I read that sign right before I asked you and it's posted at 10 minutes."

I always ask to bump around greeter because I'm easily annoyed by stupidity.

I like that. I think I'm going to borrow that one the next time I'm at greeter.. I'm also annoyed by supidity.

which brings me back to the point I've been getting at for a long
time....why the hell do people ask the questions if they're already
convinced they know the answer?

I've suddenly noticed your signature and been drawn to it...

"Do we pay for stuff here?" Guest, to me while I'm standing behind a cash register

I freakin' hate that question!
a) the god damn sign right there says what the wait is
b) I don't care
c) you're in the wrong line, standby is over there... this is fastpass. "oh, what's fastpass?"

I always prefered stopping, walking to the wait sign, reading it, then saying "it says __ minutes"

"How many people woke up this morning saying 'I have to do the Jungle Cruise?' yeah, me too, I sat on the edge of my bed crying for half an hour."

Yes, that's another good method, but I prefer the look on the guest's face when I tell them the wait is 3 hours. :D

That's good...it's about the most polite way of saying "See the sign, dumbass?" :P

I had a group of teenage girls come up to me one day and ask me what
the wait time was so I told them it was 60 mintues, which it really was,
and they got all bent out of shape and said that was to long and then
asked "no really how long is it" so I told them it was only an hour.
Appearently an hour is much shorter than 60 minutes be cause they were
much more satisfied with that answer and got in line. Go figure :bang:
