Saw this earlier on CNN from the cockpit POV. I love the comments in the article, "The guy calmed down after a cup of coffee". Hell,I would have needed a shower and a clean pair of pants.

Me being a pilot I will tell you that...well...it's not hard to do that. Flying taildraggers is one of the hardest things to do, only because you can't aply steady braking.. Planes do not have anti-lock brakes...just like the older cars where the ABS was the driver's foot tapping the brake LOL

Never flown any of the older planes like that, but I have to agree with you on the applying breaks on a plane :) My first landing (in a Cessna) scared the *BLEEP* out of me.

On the video, it just flips over so smoothly. Its like someone just says, "play dead" and it just flips over like a dog doing a trick.

A taildragger's center of gravity is behind the wheels. When the brakes are applied the CG wants to keep going so keeping control is sometimes an exciting adventure.
I learned on tricycle-gear airplanes and would need 10 or 20 hours of instruction to qualify for a taildragger.

Not bad...I am a glider pilot, which is a taildragger, but we have a skid plate or a wheel on the nose haha....I am working on my powered rating, but I don't think it's ever going to happen
