Knott's to Disney

I've noticed a growing trend, especially in the past couple years.

People leaving Knott's (whether voluntary or involuntary) and then being employed by Disney.

I worked at Knott's for almost 3 years. I'm not going to say where I was (although I LOVED the department! Good times good times. . . Sleeping in one too many times got my ass out the door). The company itself blew, but my coworkers and supervisors made me not want to leave. For a while, I was working at both places (and they each knew it). Since I've left, I've run into former shift leads from Guest Services (I started off there, but transferred), and people that I've seen and talked to around the park. Some have quit specifically to come to Disney, some people were forced to quit or they would be fired, all sorts of reasons.

I only know of probably ONE person who went from Disney to Knott's, and even he doesn't work at Knott's anymore.

What does it say about the quality and integrity of the head honchos of these corporations?

Not sure what it says about either company, but I do know this:
Starting rate for a stage tech at Knott's is under $10/hr.
Disney's starting rate is around $16/hr, last I checked. IATSE, baby. Gotta love that union pay scale.

I used to work at Knotts during the summer of 2001. It was a great place with many people to work with. Now, I work at Disney. Lots of people I know that work at Disney that I used to work at Knotts. Pay is much better at Disney then at Knotts.

Honestly, why would someone work at Knott's when Disney is 6 miles south of that craphole?
