Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel – is officially changing its name to Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.
WHY? What's the point of this?

thats the only thing I could think of.
maybe someone thinks there is too much emphasis on the princesses stuff?
(because we all know, the princesses at Disney, and the ones we all have at home, end up controlling everything anyway!!!)
hehehehhehehee

My take is this:
There seems to be very little reason, that I can see, for changing the name. The idea that someone is thinking "Um...you know, we have been pushing the princess-themed stuff a bit much lately" seems as good a theory as any.
As I have mentioned before, while I am as nostalgic as the next Disney fan, I also think this is so little a change as to not be worth making too big a fuss over. If they had, say, renamed it "Prince Rock-On's X-TREME Carousel of Awsomeness!", then I would be concerned. Letting Prince Charming have something named after him? Seems fair enough to me! :cat1:

Are they going to put in large steads with jousting poles. :whistlng:
Patchoblack is correct though. They have been shoving 'Princess' stuff down daddy's/mommy's wallet for a long time.

So when they rename the castle to Prince Charming's Castle, that will be ok too?
IMO bringing in the other princess in the new FL is wrong. WDW belongs to Cinderella, DL belongs to Sleeping Beauty, if they want the others to have a place then the other parks should have castles for them.

Actually, I saw a show on History Channel the other day about carousels, and how some have the kid lean out to grab a ring while it goes around. Now I think this would be dangerous since the kid could (and knowing Disney's luck, would) fall. but who knows, Maybe Disney will add this feature so they can rack up their lawsuit quota for the year.

one of Disney's daughters once commented how she loved to go ride the Carousel and was excited that she would always seem to get the brass ring (which meant a free ride). She said it wasn't until years later when she found out that Walt had been helping out by tipping the operator to make sure she got it.

I love ya ktulu!
As some have said, this is really not a big deal. Yes, it seems rather sudden, but its nothing to get upset about.
There are more important things to get upset about, like a disastrous oil spill in the Gulf...but I digress.
