I remember our grad "night" being in the daytime. They REALLY didn't trust us! And I especially remember one of the teachers telling us that the monorail would NOT be stopping at the Disneyland Hotel (to gales of laughter)!

I won't tell you *when* I went to my DL grad nite (lets just say the current generation probably thinks they used stone tablets and chisels ala the Flinstones in my day and age) but I do remember that we had to actually wear nice clothes. I mean dresses and slacks w/button-down shirts. I don't know if that was a school rule or if it was something DL required, but it did seem to cut down on the number of fights we had.

Also, our bus drivers apparently had some problem with their hours of service, so when we were supposed to be leaving DL, guess what? No bus drivers! We ended up invading a coffee shop across the street. The servers were incredibly patient and nice with us, thank heavens. I'm sure serving scads of tired, cranky, and hungry teenagers wasn't fun, so bless them for being so nice.

Yes, we had to dress up also, akin to the "sunday best" when I was a kid. I remember it made us all feel special to be dressed up so much in an amusement park, lol.

I wasn't there for THAT one, but they did have 3 arrests for possession with intent on the first night, and they also found 2 kids who had snuck backstage, into the roundhouse and ONTO the train before 11 in an attempt to ride it into the park when they pulled it online for Grad Nite.

I wanted to go to Grad Nite so badly when I graduated from high school, I went with another school when mine decided a harbor cruise around Long Beach was better. :( My mom was PTA president at my brother's jr high/high school so I went with their graduating class)
I would have liked to celebrate Grad Nite with my friends/classmates, but that's the way things go. Besides my mom and I had fun. Her own Grad Nite got canceled when the nuns at her parochial high school were worried the seniors wouldn't go to mass the next day. :(
I went to Grad Nite the same night I graduated so that was a long night. We left just as the sun was rising. (No castle sunrise-rats.)
I took my picture with Rodger Rabbit that night. One of my favorite photos.
Oh, next year, the senior class at my high school went back to DL for Grad Nite.

I know who caught the possession kids (or at least one, I'm not of the number for this story) it's a small world is their downfall every time. :) And we're quite proud of that. :)

I remember seeing it when it came out in San Francisco. Just before the light show started everyone in the row behind us lit up. They obviously had seen it before.
