Well, while they let us out of the cages for a bit, CMs for WDW currently get into the Water Park for free (Sorry, Blizzard just. . . No, I won't go there). I'd like to enjoy it before the "story of the lagoon" becomes reality in a few months...
I also recently picked up a new camera, the Canon Powershot D10. Built for the water. It's the best in the market (in my opinion). Anywho. Here are some photos from it's first day at the Lagoon.

If anyone is interested in the video I created from the day as well. I'll post it here.... Just as soon as I fend off these chefs from Red Lobster.... I'M NOT A LOBSTER DAMN IT! MEARLY BURNED! GET AWAY FROM ME!!

Believe it or not in "Shot 87" as it's been termed by other friends, that is the FLASH on the camera. That camera might be small but damn, even in the clear settings we had, it still packed a punch.
*Should be noted that I was coated in SPF 100+.... Four times throughout the day. And I still burned.

what is the "story of the lagoon" you speak of?

It's actually told on driftwood as you drive to the parking lot area.
Basically a raging storm struck the area depicted in the park, destroyed most of the Lagoon and ended in a huge wave picking up and dropping the "Miss Tilly" boat on the peak which eventually became known as Mount Mayday.
So the "Story of the Lagoon" can be taken to mean the thousands of people that will rush to the park soon as it draws closer to the summer season. . . Or the freaking hurricane season that will literally cause a raging storm in the lagoon.

Great Shots ! Were you able to "legally" take the camera on the tube sludes? Or did you have to sneak it on ? The water park I frequent (Great wolf Lodge) doesn't allow the camera, they send people back down the slow way with the camera.

I made it visible to each CM at the top of the slides. None said anything. Not like it mattered, its water and shock proof (OK, to a certain level) and also had a "tightened strap" on my wrist, and it's still easy to cross my arms and hold the camera in position good enough for photos.

There is though. . . There's a new breed of vacationing teen cheerleader coming. . . And it's said that the only way to compare this storm is if Hurricane Andrew and Hurricane Katrina had little storm babies. . .
