Stupid Guest Tricks

When the last Jungle Cruise boat docks for the night and lights fade to black on Sleeping Beauty's Castle, the real work begins.

At lush Pixie Hollow, gardeners don miner's headlamps as they begin uprooting stubborn weeds. On Main Street, custodians scrape chewing gum off the sidewalk. And over at Mickey's Toontown, painters sand and recoat chipped handrails.

Few see it happen, except perhaps for the dozens of feral cats that emerge from their hiding places to prowl the park after hours, stalking rodents.

Pretty much the luckiest crew at DL,no SG encounters of the third kind.

And yet they can't seem to find the time to repair the ripped and peeling wallpaper in the Star Tours exit ramps. :(

Yeah, sometimes it take them time to get to things like that. I"m sure that will get addressed sometime.
If the next time you are at the park and the wallpaper is still like that, try reporting it to a CM. Or you can always report it by going to disneyland.com and clicking on the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Of course, Star Tours is supposed to close later this year for the transformation into Star Tours 2, so they will have an extra excuse to fix the ripped wallpaper.

No offense, but is this really NEWS to everyone? It's my biggest gripe with the Kingdom Keepers books. It sort of ASSUMES that the parks are empty at night when nothing could be further from the truth.

I know what you mean. However, I'm sure that this is interesting news to some of the general public.

Though I was a bit taken aback by the fact that the LA Times of all news sources would have a random article about this. They tend to be so biased of Disney a lot of the time...At least from what I've seen in the past.

I do not think that this is a random article. Like it says, DL's 50th is coming soon. And to be frank, DL and Disney have a lot of revenue that flows throughout the SoCal and LA areas.

Now what I was sorely reminded of with Grad Nite these past weekends..how fast our diverse teams can turn the park around in short hours on those days we have late (very late hours for Grad Night) park hours and be "Neat and Pretty" for the morning opening.

Have to say I hated saying Good Night (Morning for them) to the opening crew that I had sent home 14 hrs earlier each of those nights! [Thank gawd it was a non eventful trip home each morning...yeah, I was the 45 mph girl in the 55 zone!]

However, I was very happy that a fresh team was there to welcome our early bird Day Guests and not me!

Our graveyard cast work as a team to get done the 'impossible' every night...but especially those 'late' nights. If you get a chance, talk to them...you may want to join the night support family that maintains and restores the magic every night, 365 nights a year...

You've got a point there though. To that end, I suppose that its not so random.
