Light Showers at the Matterhorn

I heard from a few of the old(er) timers that in the days when there were mountain climbers on the Matterhorn, we had to deliver SOPs (an igloo of ice, 5 gal of water, cases of desani on request, powerade during code 90, all done daily) to a breakroom near (or at) the top of the Matterhorn. According to the guy who was telling me the story, he once had to use the bathroom very badly while halfway up the mountain and it was a long trip to the nearest bathrooms, so he took the advice of his co-worker and urinated off the side of the mountain. He says this happened on the east side (next to the sub lagoon), and he wasn't all that hidden, so it goes without saying that he was caught and got in a LOT of trouble. He didn't say exactly what happened to him, but this might have been the incident that lost him his lead status!
I asked him why they stopped having people "climb" the Matterhorn, and he said it was for a similar reason -- the climbers, unable to get to a bathroom, would relieve themselves ON the mountain. Not nearly as bad as doing it "off" the mountain, but still bad enough to turn the Matterhorn into a towering lemon snowcone.
