I was planning on going to DLR tomorrow with my wife and daughter. I don't care what looks I get, I don't care how bad they've gotten in comparison to what I remember, I'm buying and wearing a coonskin cap as soon as I get there.
Never saw the Daniel Boone stuff, but I grew up wearing out my Aunt's Davy Crockett videocassettes, and my sneaky wife got me the DVD set as soon as it came out, when I didn't even know it was COMING out.
I now has a sad. I mean, this has really bummed me out now. :(
RIP, Fess.

RIP Fess.

OMG.
Night before last, on Wheel of Fortune they gave away a trip to Fess Parker's winery in CA and I was explaining to my daughter who he was and quizzing March if he knew who he was.
He was so handsome back in the day.
I'm sad now.
:(

So sad to hear this. I once had an opportunity to have lunch at Club 33, and we got talking to one of the managers there. He took us briefly backstage (we were all DLR and WDW Cast) to one of the offices, where one of the original rifles from the tv show was hung on the wall, autographed by Fess Parker himself. Such a great memory. He will be missed.

You got that right hobie. Mom tells the tale when I'd take a bath back in the late 50s, I'd sing "Davy,Davy Crockett,King of the Wild Fontier" over and over and over. Hey,it's the only line I knew. Of course it was pretty cool seeing him in the cult classic "Them".

So long Davy,Thanks for the memories. :(
