I usually get up at 0 dark thirty. As soon as the dogs hear me putting on clothes they're at the bedroom door because they know it's time to get fed. We go downstairs, I open the back door for the schnauzer so she can run out to take a leak and head to the kitchen with the big dog to get out the dog food. By the time it's in the bowls the schnauzer is back inside. They both eat while I head to my computer to see what's happening in the world.

After eating the dogs usually go outside to sniff around for overnight cat trails and take care of other things. They then head back upstairs and go back to sleep with my wife. This morning had some unexpected excitement.

I'm just getting into the news when I hear a scream from upstairs. Apparently the schnauzer had fallen into the pool and jumped into bed with my wife. She (the schnauzer) decided getting mom to scream was great fun and was now tearing around the house leaving a trail of water behind her.

Never a dull moment.

I take it Scooter is a good swimmer? My Mom's dogs were all proficient, even used to jump on the air mats to surf and grabbed on the other's tail to get a free tow around the pool....

She's a great swimmer. When we take her to the beach she swims out and climbs on the tourist's shoulders, give them a welcome lick, and moves on to the next person. They all get a kick out of it.

I jus got home from a coaching session with our B Team newer kids. I call them the Killer B's. Nice day, light winds not much current. We all had a great time. All the kids won at least one race.

I told one that she's a sand bagger as she gets some crummy starts early and then pulls horizon jobs on the rest of the fleet. She's gonna be one of my ace racers in a few years.
