Another non event. The other side of the island saw a two-foot wave.

There's another tropical storm forming off to the west of us but even that looks like it'll fall apart before hitting any land.

Huffington Post captures a lot of truth about Hawaii.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/str ... ref=hawaii

1. Oahu's freeways are really bad.
2. Just about every vehicle has a surf rack. Mine don't.
3. Seriously.
4. We look forward to our quarterly Terminix visit.
5. I haven't had a breadstick in twelve years.
6. It's not that bad. Okay, it is.
7. I. Will. Not. Eat. Spam.
8. I know it's Winter when the temp drops into the high 50's overnight for three days.
9. Those are my feet.
10. Only if they're Scott's.
11. Told ya.
12. Quantity lets you be picky.
13. The guide books ruin the secret spots.
14. This year has been the worse since we've been here.
15. @#&>@&%$# 'peads!! I've been bitten twice. My wife drops them into the garbage disposal with her 'pead tongs and laughs maniacally.

Every few months we are suddenly overrun with baby geckos in the house. Their mamas lay eggs in out of the way places including inside aluminum window frames. I opened up a sail storage tube to find about 50 eggs on top of the canvas. They're about a quarter inch across. I picked them up one at a time and put them in a small bowl on my desk. A month later I had a herd of babies crawling over my computer monitor.

This morning I was going out to get the paper and found this brand new baby on a mirror by the front door. After shooting some pics I deposited him in an orchid garden outside the kitchen window.

We had a shark sighting at our beach at the bottom of the hill yesterday. First one ever.

Baby geckos sure are cute little buggers. They stay that way as long as they don't start talking in an Australian accent, selling you insurance.

Tourists are friends, not food.
