Stupid Guest Tricks

What a way to ruin Christmas for guests.

I'm a little divided on this.

I'm all for the right to collective bargaining and striking to acheive better work conditions.

But at the same time, CFDT/CFTC went about this the completely wrong way.

Going on strike generally means marching outside your employer, encouraging potential customers to avoid patronising the offending business in question. On top of that, it's Christmas, this could've most certainly waited until at least Boxing Day, for goodness' sake. By doing this, they just made themselves look like a bunch of a******

On top of that, per their Collective Bargaining Agreements, they have it pretty good. Even if the company implements the proposal at the centre of all this (a €0.00 net increase in salaries), they would still be among the highest paid Cast Members in all of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Anyway, Euro Disney, SCA has agreed to return to the Bargaining Table, so hopefully there won't be further actions like this in the future.

I fully support the rights of employees to bargain collectively for their terms and conditions of employment. This was obviously a poor decision on the part of many parties, DLP had to have known this was coming and they should not have allowed the striking cast members into the park (striking workers have no right to be on private property), the union should have waited until after the holiday (really they didn't do themselves any favors), and the cast members themselves should have refused to participate.

I belong to a union, if a strike vote was taken I would certainly not participate in the ruining of our customers holidays! It is unfortunate that cm's saw fit to behave this way. Sadly they probably hurt their own cause, and the cause of many other unionized workers who would never engage is such a Grinch like display!

I wonder if this is becoming a cultural thing in France after all the demonstrations with the unemployed youths burning cars and such. I think it's in poor taste and surely didn't win them any supporters from the guests.

Ze French have been burning stuff for years. Every time there's a strike the used tire market explodes.

maybe the burning of tires covers up the smell of not bathing on a regular basis.
