I'm in the lull between my family opening our presents to each other and heading to my in-laws. Merry Christmas to all, and especially to the CM's working today so others can play. :D:

Last night I was at church for our Christmas Eve service, and in a drawing I got a tin of Trader Joe's sipping chocolate. Today I'll be going to a church family's for Christmas. Right now, I'm doing my laundry--we got a new dryer yesterday, and on Sunday a new gas range is coming. Whoo Hoo! An oven at last1 I prefer gas cooking to electric, which we now have. Especially since we have the occaisonal power interruption--hope it isn't the wiring....

Happy Non-Denominational Gift Giving Celebration. I was kinda hoping for the rest of the scales I need to start making my next tail, but didn't get them, however, I have now purchased them myself. Normally we have gag gifts, but it was surprising to note that there were none this year.

We were planning a nice roast beef for dinner, but it wasn't taken out of the freezer early enough and was still frozen so we just got back from dinner at IHOP. Now, before you start asking why we didn't go for Chinese, it was suggested and rejected by one person. Of course, I am not sure any local Chinese place is open today.

We had our big meal Christmas eve and had leftovers last night. Both were great.

My wife refuses to go to theaters anymore as they turn the AC to stun. Unless it's something like Avatar I wait until the DVD comes out. Last night we finally saw Up. It was pretty...

SQUIRREL!!

... good. The bonus features showed how they got all their ideas for the falls and rock formations. Very interesting.

14 of family made 10 dozen tamales for Christmas Eve. Thankfully I messed up ;) & was sent to watch sports with the guys. Christmas Eve dinner was a huge Mexican buffet. Santa's arrival with perfect gifts for the children is always a favorite. Santa still arrives on a Harley. Christmas Eve party was smaller this year. Only abt 100 close family. A cute little nephew from NYC said; "Nana's house sounds like the subway." :D: Great analogy! Christmas Day we opened more gifts, went up & down the hill to see who was serving what for Christmas dinner, then went to see new homes a few family members have purchased. More food at each home. :) My sister gave us all the greatest treasure. She made a 20 min. documentary, with appropriate music & pix of Mom's life. We all laughed & cried as we watched the backbone of our family shine & succeed so we could all have the best life any mother could give her children. NBC NY helped my sister add to & edit Mom's story. At one point my sister was told to stop her secret project because NBC's main computer was overloaded & was going to crash, thus her video was done in segments. Made us laugh. Bush 1 & Mrs. Bush were even in Mom's documentary. I had totally forgotten they had visited one of our factories & had lunch with my Mom. Mom then brought out a handwritten Thank You note from Mrs. Bush on White House Stationary. Most of us never knew Mom had the letter. Our Mom was the family's Christmas Star. :star: :tree:
