Central Florida News 13: Disney Gets H1N1 Vaccine When Doses Limited

Why did I see this coming from a mile away???

I guess it is not possible for cast members to get H1N1 too since it is so magical? CF13 is on the Disney hating bandwagon.

There is a doctor out here in Cali who utilized EVERY opportunity to pre-order the vaccine; he ended up with 15,000 doses. He did not need them all of course, so he ended up selling them for 20 bucks each- don't think he had any restrictions on giving them first to high-risk groups. Friend who works at a hospital in Hemet says their hospital got No doses-glitch in ordering-but with a largely retirement community, their hospital wasn't hit very hard(over age 65 seems to get much less likely to get flu due to so many years alive builds an immunity)
During October, EVERYONE at Disneyland seemed to be coughing CMs deserve all the protection they can get.

also CMs should take Airborne regularly to keep thier immunue systems strong. working with people all over the world is a great risk these days.

Hope it was not a required vaccine.

Most CMs can't afford Airborne.

Considering how many people CMs tend to encounter in the course of a shift, they need it more. I still remember the time working at Knott's when this woman brought her kid to the park, saying they wouldn't let him come to school because he had chickenpox. I was so grateful I'd had it as a kid. Not so grateful a couple years ago when I got shingles on my face as a result of having had chickenpox, but I wonder just how many people that kid infected. And of course, what the heck made this woman think it was okay to bring a kid with a communicable disease into a park where he could infect a lot of people? :mad:

Then of course there was that time a kid sneezed in my face while I was fastening his seatbelt--I ended up with a horrific case of sinusitis and a strep throat. Everytime after that, whenever I got a cold, my sinuses would also get infected--can we say, "OUCH!!!!"
