It was made up from different parts, Walt only wanted certain horses.
Clip of news archive:

Back in 1955, when Walt Disney was erecting his dream park in a California orange grove, the visionary businessman spent $22,000 for the derelict merry-go-round that became King Arthur Carrousel.

Today, a collector easily could spend as much on a single well-restored horse or two. Disneyland itself spends far more than that every year just maintaining its 85-steed herd. You might say that, at Disneyland, carrousel horse restoration is a process that never ends.

The merry-go-round that was to become the King Arthur Carrousel was found at Sunnyside Park in Toronto, Canada, where it was scheduled to be demolished to make way for a freeway. Since Walt Disney wanted only jumping horses – not the other animals which were part of the original– additional horses were found on other old carousels, including one at Coney Island. They were all headed for a wonderful new home and some very special care.

but it don't say what brand or model walt found in cancada.

This is very interesting, DrCorey. Where did you find the information? My husband's father worked as a painter at DL and one of his jobs was to paint the Carrousel horses.

The ones on the merry-go-round at Knott's are ---I hate senior moments! Starts with a D, German name, very famous and valuable. Daimler? No, that's an old car....

Somebody help an old lady out!

What's the difference between a merry-go-round and a carousel? A merry-go-round has a variety of animals, a carousel has only horses. Part of one of my old spiels.

That's a different carousel Grumpy.......and if that one was around now, most of us wouldn't be here. :)

Btw, I give that movie as a gift to people on their 30th birthday. :D:

The animals on the Knott's Berry Farm carousel are from the famed carousel company Dentzel. There is a sign explaining the history of the carousel at the carousel's entrance. I will have to go look at it to get more information.

I can't take all credit for it, somebody did it to me first.

You know though, some people have said I'm mean for doing that, I know there was something I liked about you Grumpy. :)

Thank you, Dazyhill! Dentzel--I once read an article on Dentzel carousel figures in Smithsonian magazine, back in the late 80s-early 90s when I subscribed to it. It showed a group of restorers working on figures that had been in a fire, and there was a giraffe figure among them. After restoration, they were good as new.
