A Comic actor for a long time. If you saw the Blues Brothers, he was the leader of the Illinois Nazis in that, and was a regular on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

I loved Laugh-In--the Joke Wall, Sock It To Me Time, and Henry Gibson. One of his poems I remember was a song called, "Is A Frog the Farmer's Friend?"

Is a frog the farmer's friend, oh I don't know
Is the frog the farmer's friend, oh I don't know
(I may have forgotten some lyrics here)
One time I asked a frog that, and all he said was "Ribbit".

And for those too young to remember Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, here's a link to the full obit:

I loved his character spots in movies....one of my favorites is when he played in Switching Channels with Kathleen Turner and Burt Reynolds.
