I've seen this also. My heart goes out to all the poor souls who have to work today. Firefighters, police, armed forces, fast foof folks and the poor schmucks at my ex-job. You wouldn't believe how many people go furniture shopping on Labor Day.felinefan wrote:It honors people who work. Or did, originally. Maybe you've heard this, but someone figured out that if you subtract the hours you spend in a year sleeping, plus holidays, vacation, etc., there would actually only be one day in the year to work--and that would be Labor Day, when nobody works because it's a day off. Interesting, huh?
Firefighters in SoCal have been working 24/7 for the last 2 weeks. They have given far beyond human strength. Think of their brave efforts today please! Our armed forces always need prayers & positive thoughts. Those individuals are just plain Heroes - in every corner of the world.darph nader wrote:My heart goes out to all the poor souls who have to work today. Firefighters, police, armed forces

It didn't seem all that crowded to me, Small World got a little longer than a 10 minute wait for a little bit, then the line went away and we had 10 minutes or less the rest of the day, at least the part of the day that I was there for. Also, I think the estimate was only 40something, but I could be wrong about that.Ms. Matterhorn wrote:Did anyone go to (or work at) DLR today? DH and I went to Anaheim Garden Walk. It was a ghost town, but they were using the parking lot for Disneyland overflow. That means the parks were WAY too crowded!
