Stupid Guest Tricks

When the monorail has been holding for more than 15 minutes, all closed up and in the station, please throw your passengers a bone and give us a "hold on to something" before you start moving. Last night, it was like something out of Swan Lake when we finally pulled out of the MK station, because after standing around for so long, no one still had hold of a handrail. ;)

Yeah, and you bus drivers, can you please warn us at night when you're going to suddenly switch on the interior lights as you approach a resort bus stop. It's a shock to be half dozing and without warning all the lights come on and you're totally blinded for several seconds.

lol!! It's been a while since I've had that happen, but I remember well the collective "ack!" when the lights come up like an interrogation is about to begin. :D:

I know all about the bus lights. Happens all the time on the MK Cast Shuttle at night. There's nearly always a collective "ACCK!" from the tired CMs who are heading home.

GOD YES!!!! Nothing worse the being blinded by the light.

I simple "We're approaching _________" or they could install a little ding that sounds a second or 2 before the light comes on.

That could be an interesting experiment. I'd like to see the Pavlovian response to such a bell after a few weeks.

In defese of my fellow pilots, it is said in every automated spiel that "If standing please hold onto the handrail, this monorail may beging to travel" I understand where you come from, but in our defense It is not as simple as pushing a button some times. These trains sometimes require us to have multiple arms to things at once. If you where holding outside of a statio for 15 mins with the doors closed, the drive may have had something going on that required him/her to maintain focus on driving rather guest comfort.

Those are the ones that speak english.... we have an over whelming number of non english speaking hatians that drive....

Some sort of Eisner policy... why pay for better quality when you can get dirt cheap labor.

I realize this, and of course I know safety is the biggest concern. However, we were holding in the MK station, while they brought another train on for MK's closing. The continual announcements said we would move after safety setup had been completed. They filled the train (stuffed it to the gills!), then clsoed the doors. We were in station for 18 minutes, when all of the sudden, the train just started moving. I realize the pilot had plenty to do up there, but it would have only taken a second to throw out a "here we go!" over the speaker before proceeding.

While we all got a laugh out of having to grab one another, I know there was an eldery man standing in the cab in front of us, and he landed on his wife's lap.

And yes, there were plenty of announcements telling us to hold on, but just about anyone would grow complacent after 18 minutes on the platform. And, in my case, some of us become claustrophobic (not that there's anything you could have done about that).
