They're doing a rip-off of POTC. Or actually, a movie company paid them a dollar (!) for the rights. (They overpaid.) Can we say, "Flop in the making"? Because I don't see much of a storyline in Ghost Town. Not every movie made in imitation of a classic film has done well; in fact, many were absolute turkeys. Should be interesting if it even gets made--or is shot in the park. I can see it now--Knott's is shut down for filming. Can you imagine the cries of SGs everywhere? Can we say "instant riot"? Hey, folks, you wanna do Knott's a favor, burn down Ghostrider--that thing has injured so many folks it's not funny. Including one lady who broke her neck riding it, and Knott's blamed her for coming into the park with a broken neck! They refused to believe she had broken her neck on the ride, but medical evidence doesn't lie.

Frankly, Ghost Town is so messed up, they would have to tear out half of everything to do any shooting, because adjoining attractions are in the way. They mess with the train, they're dead meat....

Ghost town has characters? I thought they were just statues.

When I was doing my ROP program at Knott's, my merch training was in the Ghost town area. Allot of the places in that area have shrunken or is no longer open. What is the filming about?

according to the article, they are going to develope a movie based on the different figures in the ghost town?

Hmmm,

Wouldn't that be called a western?

Ghost town? This isn't going to be a rip-off of Haunted Mansion is it? That movie sucked all by it self.

They thought, "Hey, it worked for POTC, maybe it will work for the Clico Ghost Town!!" I don't see this ending well.

In a related story, Knott's is bringing back some of the bears from Knott's Beary Tales. I always loved that ride!

The bears are located in the old barn in Ghost Town that Knott's has converted to a toy store. There is also leather bracelet engraving and hat embroidery too outside. A loop of the Beary Tales soundtrack plays when the bears are in motion. Hopefully the SG's will be nice and not destroy them. (Wishful thinking!)
On the back wall of the barn interior there is talking cow and a talking horse head. For 50 cents, you can hear the cow and horse swap jokes with each other.
I have very fond memories of Beary Tales. I still remember being all excited about the Kingdom of the Dinosaurs ride and then realizing after looking at the park map,it had replaced Beary Tales! I was so bummed! :(

Refresh my memory--what did they do with the former KOD site? I remember hearing they were going to put either another ride there, or a shop of some kind.

I thought that the Roaring 20's was a cool place. Of course, as usual, Cedar Fair has screwed things all up.

Nothing has been done with the KOD (Kingdom of the Dinosaurs)/Beary Tales site. It's just there collecting dust. It hasn't been used as a Haunt Maze either.
