Just heard it on the news here at 5:20pm central time and it was confirmed by LA Times. I'm sure it will be on our national news at 5:30 and local news at 6:00.

He was a weirdo but I really enjoyed his music and videos.

A Shame. :(
Can't help but think pharmaceuticals are involved given his vegetarian and active lifestyle.
I remember hearing him first time when he (and I) was only a child, had an angelic voice.
I hope someone will take good care of his kids.

I am watching the news. I was out shopping earlier and someone behind me told the cashier that Michael Jackson had a heart attack and died. 50 is young. On the talk radios, they said he had gone to a heart specialist last month and had heart problems. That's a bad sign. Now, I wonder who will be taking care of his kids? It is sad to hear about the passing. :(

I am so sad. I can't remember a time when I wasn't listening to his music. He might have been "different" but his music was so good.

According to MSNBC.com, it was heart failure. He recently underwent a 4 1/2 hour physical exam by independent doctors who pronounced him healthy. He was gearing up for a comeback concert in a couple of months; tickets sold out in minutes after they became available online.

I remember when he was a kid in Jackson 5; I thought he was the cutest (before he started messing up his face), and he had the best voice. My oldest nephew had a video game where Michael has to rescue kids from the house of a bad guy. When he came up to a kid, the child would say "Michael!" and take off on a magic skateboard.

Yes, he was odd in his later life, but hey, he was basically deprived of his childhood, he was always in the spotlight, and afterwhile, that can do things to you. Aside from that, I think he was innovative in music and video. I didn't like the gross things he had in his videos; though the last one I saw was for "Black and White", I liked that.

I once read in a catalog where they were selling tickets in plastic that were printed for Elvis' concert that he never gave. I'll be EBay is going to be doing a land-office business with people selling those tickets for the concert Michael never gave, too.

R.I.P The King Of Pop!! Who will take over?? Aaron Carter??

HE will DEFINITELY be missed!! I loved his music!! He was so young too, like Bernie Mac!! They are playing a tribute to MJ on the radio right now, all his old hits, as well from Jackson 5.

This is pretty sad news.
Regardless of what people thought of him, it is always sad when a life is lost.
