Stupid Guest Tricks

So yesterday in the GR Lobby in DCA we got two AWESOME SGTs!

The first guy wanted an arrow GAC because "He couldn't be bumped". We explained that the wheelchair would help him just fine, and then he changed his story that "my daughter runs away from me." Thinking she had some sort of autism or something, we asked him why she does so. His response: "She's 3 years old."

*facepalm*

Can't get any worse than that one? I beg to differ. A few minutes later we get another one. This time it's a lady on her cell phone who wants her arrow GAC updated. We periodically ask what their concerns are to see if anything's changed, so we asked her. Her response? "I have 5 kids. It's easier to keep track of them when we don't have to wait so long."

*FACEPALM!*

We DO NOT under any circumstances offer GACs because you're too lazy to watch your child! OR your 5 children! COME ON, PEOPLE!!

those situations are NOT a handicap?

Okay, I'm terrible at links, so it's all long and such.....

The first 2 stories, those SG suffer for LBS. Lazy Butt Syndrome. My sister's came across that one 12 years ago when we went to Epcot. If your are that much of a slacker, pay to get a baby sitter and leave the kids at home.

Back in 1965-66, we lived in Australia for six months. When it became apparent that it wasn't working out--we had planned to emigrate there--Dad flew back to the U.S. to find us a place to live, etc., leaving mom with us five kids, ranging in age between almost 3 to 14 years. My older sister spent some time in the hospital with her ulcerative colitis, so we were on our own for a month before Dad wrote mom and said it was time for us to return. Mom had to handle all of us going from the house we were renting, to a boarding house, onto the train, onto the ship, and we were met in Los Angeles by Dad and my uncle Larry, one of mom's brothers, who'd been taking care of our belongings that we couldn't bring with us. Mom and Dad had trained my older brother and sister to watch us three younger ones, and I have to admit mom did a good job keeping us organized.

So I said all that to say this--if parents back in the day could wrangle several kids, why can't parents today handle a single child? Or several?

I swear, most people nowadays are getting lazier, and lazier. they don't want to wait in looooooong lines. they don't want to park in the back of the structure and waaaaaaaaaaaaalk all the way to the tram. they rather drive around the parking lot in search of a closer parking space then to get a little excercise and walk to and from their car. A little excercise won't KILL a person.

I asked my Grandmother how she kept her 10 kids from doing things like running into the street,etc. At the time, handling my two was sometimes REALLY challenging with the elder being 4 with autism and the 2 year old being.......2.
She said, "Well, I had this big black leather belt I kept hung up on a nail on the wall.....anytime I wanted the kids to stop misbehaving I'd take it down and whack it against the tree-made a really loud sound, so the kids didn't want to try it on their bottoms!"

She was a really wise woman! :D:

I remember when I got my AP picture taken in February, there were people who refused to wait in the line because it was too long(it was quite short at the time). This was really funny because I knew the line would most likely get longer and either way it would be the shortest line they were in all day.
