I know some of you will ask "WHY?!?!?!?" but I have dreamed my whole life to work for WDW. I am at the career web site and did the resume and searched for openings. all I see are "degree needed this and that". How do I or who do I talk to about just getting a basic job, sweeping, attraction host, garbage man, gum scrapper, butt kisser, ect?

Thanks

For the majority of hourly roles, you can get more info and apply online at http://www.disney.go.com/DisneyCareers/ ... index.html

You can also call the Jobline at 407-828-1000 for more information.

Good luck!

I know what is currently available is custodial, food and beverage and lifeguarding for pretty much immediate hire.

I got no problem doing custodial, food and beverage, (not CPR trained so lifeguard is out). How is it to advance from those spots?

Actually, if you are interested in lifeguard, it doesn't matter if you're trained or not in anything. Long as you can swim well enough, you're in.

My wife currently works Lake Patrol and loves it. She doesn't guard the pools much any more, she sits on a boat and makes sure the people renting boats are safe.

While hers builds on a lifeguard's job, what she does is quite different in many ways. If you have to do CPR on a pool deck, you completely immobilize the pt.

On a boat, you might be crashing across waves at 20 kts. Of course, if you have waves that big at Disney World, the lakes have already been shut down for weather :)

What department is that?

That is an advancement from Lifeguard.

WDW is also hiring housekeepers. In fact, there's a $100 bounty paid to any CM who brings one in. And it's not true that one has to be fluent in Haitian Creole... unless you actually *want* to talk to your co-workers.

I really shouldn't laugh at that one, but I can't help it :D: That definitely fits the description of the our Housekeeping Cast at my resort. I always feel for the occasional CP that is cast in housekeeping and has no clue what they're saying.
