Stupid Guest Tricks

Now that I have your attention......

Well.. the title is not incorrect... soemthing is closing... As of this tuesday ( less then 24 hours from now ) Virgin Mega at DTD will close its doors forever. Currently, their is a store wide sale everything is upto 30% off. I was speeking with a store associate, and found that Virgin Corp. no longer wants a retail location any more. Now here is the intresting part. About a year or so ago I was made aware of a plan to convert several locations at DTD into something good ( at least to the ones who informed me of what was going on. ) One of the changes was that Disney wanted to part ways with Virgin and install a Apple Mega Store in its location......

Can we say... the largest Apple Store ever.....


We shall see what this space is turned into!!

Now if they'd only do something with the empty space to the east ... wait ... wait, I've got the perfect idea ... Maybe they could put in a series of clubs, including an improv comedy show, and a highly themed interactive club where the story is that you are attending an open house at a mid-1930's "Adventurer's Club"

Well........ sources close to this Doctor have stated that the AC will return. Some speculation has been made to say that it will be turned into a larger venu connection the old BET sound stage building and the current housing for the clubs "artifacts".

I must say that their is a reason why they moved the higher paid staff from these clubs to lower paid positions around the parks... their is one that is a conceierge <sp> at contep i believe... the short blond haired chick from the comedy warehouse is the main act at the "Whats the problem" at epcot


I mean... come on.... its almost june and they have yet to strike the sets at the AC or CW..... what does this tell you!!@

I'm fairly sure the AC is booked for private parties every so often until Oct.Plus the PI liquor license http://tinyurl.com/oo57fl expires Sept 30. I'm not sure what happens then. :(

The AC was only booked thru march. as far as the lic..... well... Disney owns a property wide lic with exception to Vero Beach and WWoS... due to they are out side of Orange Co.

PI's Lic was baught so that it would have a back up to the site wide lic. They still sell controlled beverages in the PI area. On top of that.. their is a couple of Co. owned eatries that are going into the area that will need a lic........ soooooooooooooooooo...

Thanks, but that's not quite correct. There's a big difference between working the crowd and working at the location.

It tells me that the Company couldn't find a buyer to turn those locations into restaurants, so the Conventions Dept. took over those venues and has offered them to groups through the end of next September (so far).

Hey, just because *one* department is run by morons, it doesn't mean that they *all* are!

As always... I must bow to Zazu...

I guess my source of information is flawed..... ( grumbles something about board x )

but none the less.... I for see the AC returning.

LOL! I have to agree with you on that one. I miss the Adventurer's Club terribly to this day, as do my roommates who are also fellow Adventurers. Heck, every time I'm in DTD, I have to walk by the club, blow it a kiss, and give it the club salute.

I can only hope that the club will come back, along with as much of the original cast. Lovely people.

I know why Virgin Mega is closing.
