Stupid Bee Tricks

Are other people in Central Florida noticing a big bee swarm problem? We're at SSR right now and we're essentially hostages in our room. We came up earlier and there were dozens of bees swarming out in the hallway outside our room. Apparently, Custodial doesn't kill the bees - suppose they're afraid they'll go extinct if they do

Maybe we can get rid of them with some strategically placed Dole Whip... or rum...

It's not Custodial's job to deal with bees. Dealing with bees is the job of Pest Control. Have you informed the front desk of the issue? If they're not told they can't do anything about it.

Yup, we told Pest Control. They've sent a couple people up at various times. They haven't been able to do anything yet. We may move rooms if it's not something that they're able to fix. I've been out of the room most of the evening so it's not something I've noticed.

I'm told for some animals, it's mating season around here :p:

I must say, I was at MK tonight and everything looked great! Other than a few SGs trying to snap flash pictures on rides, people seemed pretty sane. I'm here till Friday, so I'm looking forward to a great (hopefully SG-free) week!

And it's fixed! We're moving - and they're putting us right next to where they put my brothers' families, too. I wonder if someone in Resorts was reading this last night ;)

If the bees want to stay, perhaps they should make them buy DVC points :p:

In general, their has been a bee problem all over the world... Bees have declined in numbers.. and for me.. its a good thing that people are seeing bee's again.. mean more honey.. unless they are wasps.. if thats the case.. then they can be dealt with with extreme prejudice.....

Ha, the bees are good and you don't really want to hurt them!!!!

I remember several years ago some of us went to lunch at a mini-mall. AS we walked back out to the cars, one of the guys had a swarm of bees all over his drivers door.

The police called a bee keeper (hurder?) and he came out to help. He told us that a queen bee had decided to land on the car, and where the queen goes, so gos the rest of her gang! It was kind of interesting how he handled it. He got in his protective gear, (he had a smoker device) then he went around and "smoked" the big bunch of them.

they fell off the car and after a few minutes of flying in circles, they all took off. (guess they followed the queen.)

kind of cool. plus he didn't hurt any of them.

I'm always fishing bees out of the pool. My neighbors think I'm crazy. Wouldn't you want me to fish your kid out if he was in trouble?
