It was Paul Winchell-best known at Disney for being the voice of Tigger.
The Banana Splits is one the strangest shows to come out of Hanna Barbara.
I like the remote shots they did at now defunct theme parks.

scary thing is, I'm surprised so many of those kiddy show costume survived to today. they were made so cheaply. like the costumes for Batman in the 60's were so cheap, sometimes they had to stop shooting to fix a costume.
I heard the Power Rangers costumes are so cheaply made that each actor gets like 6 outfits for each shooting. I saw a Alpha 5 costume once and it was mostly vacuplastic shells and velcro. Hate to tell you about the monsters.

The music almost made me fall a sleep in front of my computer.

WOW. Cheapo costumes are fun. As amature director/scriptwriter of a tribute to the 50s alien invasion movies (with penguins), with zero budget I need cheapo costumes(Don't get me started on the 70s-style half of the double feature...eek), but Power Rangers had a pretty high budget, didn't it?

yeah, but it was still cheaply done. most of the cost was fX and stuff.

If you want cheep, just watch some Lost in Space or Voyage to the bottom of the sea series, you can get some GREAT ideas on cheep monster costumes.

you can see houses in different shows and props and stuff.
heck, look what Star Trek did in the days, they needed a prop,
so they raided the lunchroom. thats how they got the phasors,
someone took the salt and pepper shakers from the lunchroom,
the rest is history.

Thank you! My film is mainly modeled after "Plan 9 From Outer Space", but I've referenced other movies ("Missle to the Moon", "This Island Earth", "Robot Monster", etc.) so I shall direct the guy who I *hope* is doing the costumes to these. The aliens should be interesting (I get to wear a stryofoam head!), and I just realized that I have a penguin costume. If a penguin strangles a Soviet spy and an alien strangles an American Scientist, is that too much strangulation? Should I be more creative?

Note to self- kitchen supplies make great weapons. That lunchroom must have had some pretty snazzy salt and pepper shakers!

Yes. Ideally, each unique species should have a specific way to kill each other species.

Unless there are only two species (or one) in which case you should try for variety.

But yes, two strangulations does sound to me like you have been inadequately creative.

For instance, is there any chance these are giant *electric* penguins who could electrocute their prey? It would solve the problem of them not having fingers. Plus the effect needed is simple: just switch quickly back and forth between positive and negative images.

And yeah, I have done consulting for Hollywood films, so don't be shy to ask.
