Teenagers + Manners = not so much

I've been meaning to post this for the past couple of days. This might be the first time (and last time) that I ever see this stupidity...but I can only wish...

"a dream is a wish your heart makes" :violin:

*record scratch*

sorry, lost my focus there...moving on.

The other day I was working at the TTC Epcot station. A group of teenagers walks onto the platorm and starts causing a little chaos. Nothing out of the ordinary, just being loud and making me think of ways to accidently close the monorail doors on them. Anywho, I take my eyes off them for only a second (this is important) to either ponder on a magical moment for a kid or to answer a guest question (I forgot what by now). I return to reality to realize two of the group of teenagers thought it would be fun to take some of the courtsey wheelchairs that we have on the express exit and roll them down the epcot monorail entrance. Normally I wouldn't care about that sort of thing, except that approximately 10 people were walking up the ramp at the same time.

The first two didn't go to far, but the third almost hit a kid right square in the legs! Thankfully, his dad save him and took a little beating (no injuries) and you could heard the dad finding intresting words that were "kid-friendly" so to say. As you can tell, he wasn't happy. The dad also was able to keep his cool and not start a fight with them. We got the two parties separated. I was able (though bad timing so to say) to allow the "family" to sit up front on the next monorail, give them a No Strings Attached fastpass to an attraction and knowing that our coordinator called security on the teenagers and the whole situation would be "taken cared of" at Epcot. He went from pissed to neutral/semi-okay (so my part was done).

Hours later, the same group of teenagers walked up the Epcot monorail station getting on a monorail. Turns out that the Manager of Epcot 'cleared' the group to go in the park (with constant security presence around). Believe me, when our monorail leader found out about that, he...well...

had that kind of a reaction.

This is the best part, you think they learned their lesson the first time and learned to behave around the us monorail peeps right?

Apparently, they thought it would be a good idea to throw one of their flip-flops down the station and beaming a guest downstairs. Thankfully, they missed (I think), but it was nice to give a nice threat of any more games secuirty would be glad to escort them out of the park...permanately

After that, they walked down the Epcot platform and that was the last I saw of them.

Nah, that's what makes them teenagers. Most of them are incapable of learning lessons, or being polite, and most of them enjoy being mean, nasty, little hellions.

I'm probably jaded. But I have just seen way too many instances in the parks where teens act like idiots.

I'm sure that there are some "good" teens, but it seems like the evil ones outnumber them.

Great title BTW!

I wonder if the parents gave them annual passes and let the park babysit them. Better at a park. SEen them type of brats at DLR also. There are lots of good kids out there but you seem to have met the scum.

I was just reading some stuff about brain development. That kind of behavior can be expected until they turn 25.

The not do much manners start earlier than that.

We were leaving EPCOT by Monorail mid-afternoon. Mom and her three Princesses in costume were waiting near the front platform gate.
We were at the next gate down. Dad and the stroller were behind us.
I guessed mom and the girls wanted a pilot ride, since dad separated.
Two boys about 10 come running up, past mom and the girls, and park themselves right on the gate.
Mom says nothing but looks shocked. Don't know if language was an issue, I never heard mom or dad speak.
When the platform CM opens our gate I let her know exactly what happened.

Guess which two boys were told there was no room with the Pilot and had to watch the girls walk right by :D:

I debated telling the parents what happened but in the end I just let it be Disney Magic.

I guess I don't understand why they were allowed to board after assaulting other guests and escorted out right then and there by security....especially after they used Disney Property as the weapon of choice...

Sometimes they will let the person on a ferry, tram or monorail which lets the bad guys think they won and they are happy. In the mean time the security will be waiting to haul them away. In this case the CMs were out numbered and the foe were stronger so why not let them happily ride the monorail then have some nice big security ready to haul their punk arses away. Also it would not be good for other guests to see a fight between brats and CMs.

Note that the original poster was expecting security to nail them. It is sad there are that kind of spoiled kids who waste their youth and bodies while there are kids who do not have their gifts who would love to have those healthy bodies, such a waste.

Wait a second. I didn't know they came back! We should have kicked them out the first time.
