Stupid Guest Tricks

I am actually guessing that the bulk of this trip will not happen because of various reasons, but I have a few inquiries to make before it is dismissed out of hand. Blizzcon is August 21-22 this year and there is a good chance that I will attempt to get tickets. I had family go last year and they decided to spend a little extra time down in Anaheim to play in Disneyland. We are looking at doing something similar this year and have also looked at flying down to WDW after and spending some time there. My inquiries regard the crowds to expect at these times, we would expect to see large crowds because this is around the time that children are being sent back to school. I have found online that this time period is at the end of the peak season so crowds will be slightly less, but we think that a lot of parents are going to want to get a trip to the parks in before the kids start back. I have also found online that this seems to be a good time to visit WDW with regards to crowds, but we have visited in June and did not like the weather which we thought was great on a trip in February.

Before we decide we want to make Disney a part of this trip we would like some of this information. While I know we can probably expect crowds in the either location, what could we expect as far as attendance compared with other times of the year? Also, because it could be a deal breaker, what could we expect from the weather in Florida with regards to other times of the year?

Thanks for the information, and if we include Disney on this trip that means that I am planning to have 3 Disney trips this year.

How much are tickets to Blizzcon this year? Last year, Purpura and I wanted to go, but they were a hundred dollars apiece, which was too expensive for us. She's even got a great idea for the Costume contest, as well...

I haven't seen any information on the ticket price, It seems they just announced the dates yesterday, so it probably won't be much longer for prices.

If you liked the weather in February at WDW, you won't like it in August. That's probably the hottest month of the year in Florida, temps in the 90s and extremely humid with frequent thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.
Schools start fairly early here (usually in August) so the crowds will be low, and that's why they offer the free dining in Aug and Sep, to keep people coming to the parks. Aug & Sep are also prime hurricane months in the south, another reason Disney offers incentives to keep the parks from being deserted and the cruise ships busy.

Don't mean to sound so negative, but living in Florida in the summer is like living in a sauna. I wish I could spend my summers in the Pacific Northwest and just spend a few winter months here in Florida.

That's about what I expected for Florida, but it never hurts to double check, so that just leaves what crowds at DLR are going to be like.
