Join Me for the American Idol Media Tour!

Hey all,

I was fortunate enough to be invited to do the American Idol media tour this week. I've been on the run since Mon. My blogging site is at http://www.wdwevent.com/packinthefun/examiner/ and Disney uploads new video and photos for me every day. There are three videos and lots of photos out there already (yes, that's geeky ol' in the video clips), and there should be some really great stuff after the Idol premiere. I am soooooooo excited, but they are really keeping me busy from dawn till dusk.

I'm working at Indiana Jones tomorrow from 9:45 - 5:15. If you should wander by and see a purple ECV on the side inside the entrance just ask one of the hosts where Mike is.

IT is going to be mad busy tomorrow at Hollywood Studios. I'll be there with my camera to get pictures of the American Idol Experience celebration! Sadly, I work on the grand opening.....

Hey Fig, I'll look for you if I get there early enough. We might be running late because we're seeing the new parade at MK right beforehand. It sounds like that event is going to be insane.

I actually got up on the Idol stage and sang (gack) for one of the videos. I was planning to go all William Hung since I can't sing worth a darn, but it ended up being a little too bad (or so I'm guessing...haven't seen it yet) because I could not see the cue card screen and totally squinted the whole time trying to see the words. Ugh!!

Hey Syndrome - cool pictures and videos! Looks like you're having a great time with your new job, doing all those interviews and sneaking into places like Tree House Villas that aren't even open to the public yet. Yeah, I saw ya down there playing with the BBQ grill. :D:

Is that black and white horse at the Fort Wilderness stables a Gypsy Vanner? Do they actually use it for trail rides? I'd love to ride one of those.

Love the Southwest Airlines hat!

Okay, back to the wdwevent web site. Good fun!

They say that there are two Gypsy Vanners on site. It could be a paint crossed with a draft horse as far as I care. Some horse people look down on the gypsy vanner as a novelty like labradoodle and cockapoo.

Churchy - thanks for the link. We toured the horse barn at Ft Wilderness a few years ago and found it very interesting. Someone in our area raises Gypsy Vanners and they come to our trail rides occasionally. The horses move so beautifully and are a pleasure to watch.

We saw a labradoodle at a local park once and I thought it was absolutely adorable. It was a medium sized dog with very fluffy hair and a really cute face. My mom had a cockapoo but I prefer larger breeds that don't feel a need to sit in your lap. I have cats for that purpose. ;)

Yup, a Gypsy Vanner and they do use him occasionally for trail rides.

Chesire Figment, I was hoping to get over there to see you but Studio was a MADHOUSE (as I'm sure you know)!!!! I told my media rep that I wanted to pop over to Indy, and she is a master planner so it seemed like we had allotted plenty of time. Then we saw the crowd...ugh! Crosswalks were nearly non-existent. We ended up having to head right over to the parade route.

God, that show was amazing! I'm not even an Idol fangirl, and I was still impressed. Carrie Underwood sure can belt out a tune. Then my night was complete when I met Ruben at the after-party. Here are the links to my show and party reports:

I'm never going to look at that stage in the same way again. Disney sure knows how to throw a shindig. I think they may have been trying to kill me off tho' 'cause DANG am I tired!!!!!! But it was well worth it for the amazing experience.

Yeah, yeah, it's a tough job, but we know somebody (named Syndrome) has to do it.
