Stupid Guest Tricks

Does anyone remember the name of the water park that precieded Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach? Or am I mistaken and there was no such thing?

River Country. You can see what's left of it from Bay Lake.

Visited River Country the second time I visited WDW. It seemed like a really nice idea. too bad they had to close it!

At the same time, good thing they closed it. As someone married to someone who routinely swims in that water (and the water on Crescent Lake), trust me when I say you do NOT want to go to a water park using that water.

River Country didn't use untreated lake water. That wooden walkway between the main pool and the lake hid a barrier wall.

Disney may be strange, but the Company isn't *that* stupid! (mostly)

Well, that's refreshing.

Can you imagine if it had been untreated lake water, how bad people would have smelled on the buses back to their resorts?

As bad as some of the people on the way back from the parks?

Considering that for thousands of years people have been swimming in lakes, ponds, etc. that were untreated yet they usually smelled better from the bathing they got from the swimming.

What strikes me as funny is when I was a kid, swimming in a lake was a fun time. No one ever thought about chemicals or potential hazards.

Hell, one summer my parents rented a houseboat that we stayed on for a week!

I miss having that ignorance/innocence of childhood sometimes..
